Eight Strings & a Whistle welcomes you!
Eight Strings & a Whistle translates into innovative programming, stirring music and some of the most memorable performances you’ll hear. Our repertoire features the unique combination of flute, viola and cello and draws from a wide range of sources –– there are works from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern periods, as well as pieces composed expressly for us. Our goal for every program is to create a whole that is intriguing, exciting and engaging. We'll be in Maine in early June!
We'll be performing a wide variety of music including our own arrangement of Beethoven’s Variations on Là ci darem la mano from Mozart’s Don Giovanni, and the premiere of Souls, composed for us in 2011 by Hungarian composer, Pèter Köszeghy.

Hilary Tann's The Walls of Morlais Castle is a work we been performing since our debut at Merkin Concert Hall in 2003. In touch over the Holidays, Suzanne and Hilary discussed Hilary's love of nature and Japan and how it has influenced her work. We're delighted to have Hilary as our current Featured Composer!
