Eight Strings & a Whistle translates into innovative programming, stirring music and some of the most memorable performances you’ll hear. Our repertoire features the unique combination of flute, viola and cello and draws from a wide range of sources –– there are works from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern periods, as well as pieces composed expressly for us. You can hear us on our debut recording, Albert's Window, released on Ravello Records in 2015. Our goal for every program is to create a whole that is intriguing, exciting and engaging. We invite you to explore this site, listen to our sound clips, watch our videos, read about our composers and learn more about us.
Meet our latest Featured Composer, Spencer Snyder! We performed Spencer's piece, Red and White, at our benefit this past March. Were looking forward to performing more of his music at the Tenri Cultural Institute in October and at the Festival for Contemporary Music in Havana, Cuba this cming November.
